‘Adjusted Identities’ explores questions around representation and the power a visual medium has in the creation of meaning. By metaphorically dissecting a body into fragments, alienating it, combining and contrasting shapes, textures and colours, the project aims to apply new meanings to those bodies and explore the different readings they suggest through observation; stripping down a body, taking away an identity, creating a new one. Can you take something apart in order to understand it by using a medium that is believed to be constructing reality rather than deconstructing it? Or is the act of deconstruction a constructed reality in itself?
'Adjusted Identities' was part of a group photographic exhibition 'Dismantle'
